Rule bilge pumps don't lift water they will only push it up. Depending on the size of the pump depends on how high water can be pushed up. For example a pump pushing 1000 GPH (gallons per hour) has a maximum push of 12 feet (3.7metres) which will result in zero water being pumped out. Before purchasing a bilge pump, decide on where and how it will be installed and operated.
