Product Description
Wessex Teak Restorer 3.25litre
Wessex Chemical Factors’ two part Teak Cleaning process includes a Teak Cleaner (part one) and a Teak Renovator (part two). Both products are suitable for use on teak boat decks, teak garden furniture, teak decking and other teak wood items. It is also safe to use on other hard woods but we would recommend a small test are is done first on any wood other than teak.
The Wessex teak cleaning process is designed to be easy, efficient and quick to use. Compared with traditional sanding, Wessex Teak Cleaner can dramatically reduce the amount of time needed to bring old, weathered teak wood back to its original colour.
The two stage process is pretty straightforward, and each part is used in the same way, click here to see the full instructions (this will open a new web page). If cleaning a teak deck, we have found that the best results are achieved when working in sections of approximately 1m², that way a uniform result can be achieved as there will be no danger of drying out between rinsing.
Excellent results are easily achieved with Wessex Teak Cleaner & Renovator. Our best selling marine product is popular across the world and is widely considered the best product on the market – anywhere!
BADLY WEATHERED / STAINED TEAK
1. Dilute Part 1 Teak Cleaner in a bucket with fresh water at a dilution rate of 5:1 (1=Cleaner).
2. Wet teak. Remove standing water.
3. Covering teak area approximately 1m² at a time, use a clean sponge (or similar) to apply product and gently agitate. Note: For boat decks we recommend a sponge mop so you don't have to kneel.
4. Allow area to darken to a uniform deep brown.
5. Rinse thoroughly with water using a hose.
6. Repeat the process with Part 2 Teak Renovator using the same dilution rate and method.
7. After applying Part 2 Teak Renovator, the teak should lighten to a uniform 'nutty' brown colour. This effect should happen almost immediately.
8. Rinse thoroughly with water.
9. Leave to dry naturally to a straw colour. A Teak Sealer can then be applied to produce a 'nutty' brown colour.
LIGHTLY WEATHERED / STAINED TEAK
1. Dilute Part 1 Teak Cleaner in a bucket with fresh water at a dilution rate of 10:1 (1=Cleaner).
2. Follow above instructions.
3. Repeat process with Part 2 Teak Renovator (10:1 dilution).
Important note: Avoid mixing Part 1 Teak Cleaner & Part 2 Teak Renovator. If mixed together both products will be neutralised and become ineffective.
