Chopped strand fiberglass mat is widely used as a reinforcement in the fiberglass industry. It offers advantages such as low cost and easy conformity to contours.
While it may not provide the same strength as fabrics, it is ideal for cost-effective and quick build ups.
Mat can be used alone or combined with fiberglass fabrics or woven roving for larger fabrications. It is commonly used for plywood decking buildup and between layers of fabric during molding.
To saturate (wet out) a 300 gram CSM, approximately 680 grams of resin per square meter is needed.
