Chopped strand fiberglass mat is a popular choice in the fiberglass industry for strengthening materials. It offers various benefits, including affordability and the ability to effortlessly adapt to different shapes.
Although not as strong as fabrics, it is an excellent option for cost-effective and efficient build-ups. The mat can be used independently or in conjunction with fiberglass fabrics or woven roving for larger projects.
It is commonly employed in plywood decking buildup and inserted between fabric layers during the molding process. To ensure full saturation of a 300 gram chopped strand fiberglass mat, approximately 680 grams of resin per square meter is required.
