⚓ Do bilge pumps come on automatically?

Bilge pumps can be either manual or automatic depending on which one your purchase. Automatic bilge pumps should come on once the water level activates the float switch and tells the bilge pump to start pumping, it should stop once the level reduces back below the float switch.

⚓ How high can a bilge pump lift water?

Rule bilge pumps don't lift water they will only push it up. Depending on the size of the pump depends on how high water can be pushed up. For example a pump pushing 1000 GPH (gallons per hour) has a maximum push of 12 feet (3.7metres) which will result in zero water being pumped out. Before purchasing a bilge pump, decide on where and how it will be installed and operated.

Rule bilge pumps are backed by Rule's 3 year limited warranty, 2 year warranty on float switches and 5year warranty for the Rule SuperSwitch!

⚓ Can bilge pumps run dry?

Rule bilge pumps can run dry for a short period, however they are designed to switch off once the water level recedes below the float switch.
