Safety First

Ensure you have proper ventilation, especially when working with chemicals. Wear gloves and a mask to protect yourself from any harsh fumes.

Step 2: Cleaning the Cabin

2.1 Dust Removal

Start by removing any loose items from the cabin. Use a Microfiber Cloth, Rag or a Duster to eliminate dust from all surfaces, including shelves, countertops, and electronics. Pay special attention to corners where dust tends to accumulate.

2.2 Addressing Mildew

Mildew can be a common issue in boats due to moisture. We recommend the Starbrite Ultimate Mildew Remover to tackle those hard and dirty stains and surfaces. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe down affected areas, including walls and upholstery. For tougher mildew stains, you can create a paste of baking soda and water, applying it directly to the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before scrubbing gently.

2.3 Upholstery and Fabrics

For leather and fabric upholstery, browse our Fabric cleaners which are suitable to leather, vinyl, flooring, cushions, and outdoor canvases.

use Blue Marine Sky Leather for protective waterproofing. Spray evenly and wipe with a microfiber cloth, ensuring even coverage. This not only cleans but also protects against future stains and moisture damage.

Step 3: Cleaning the Screens and Windows

3.1 Removing Grime from Screens

For Strataglass screens, use IMAR to clean and protect the material. Apply the cleaner with a microfiber cloth, gently wiping in circular motions. This product not only cleans but also helps prevent scratching and hazing. Rinse with fresh water to remove any residue.

3.2 Window Cleaning

For glass windows, Simple Green Glass Cleaner works wonders. Spray the mixture onto the glass and wipe with a clean microfiber cloth for a streak-free finish. For additional shine, use a dedicated glass cleaner as a final touch.

Step 4: Polishing Metal and Paint Surfaces

4.1 Metal Polish

Starclean is our go to to bring your metals for a brilliant shine. Unlike traditional polishes apply with a damp sponge and then allow to dry. Starclean leaves a protective residue that wicks water away to prevent water stains. Our other favorites when it comes to metal is Flitz Metal Polish - preferred by superyachts, Magica Rust Remover to remove the yellow rust and tea-staining without the effort or Autosol Metal and Aluminium Polishes.  All of these products not only enhances the look but also protects against rust and corrosion.

4.2 Paint Polishing

To restore the shine to your yacht’s paint, use Autosol Rubbing Compound. Apply a small amount to a clean microfiber cloth and work it into the surface, using circular motions. This compound helps remove minor scratches and oxidation, resulting in a glossy finish. Always follow with a wax to seal in the shine and provide further protection.

Step 5: Final Touches

After cleaning, take a moment to organize the cabin. Return items to their places and ensure everything is tidy.

5.1 Routine Maintenance

To keep your yacht in top condition, establish a routine cleaning schedule. Regularly dust, check for mildew, and clean your screens and windows. This proactive approach will save you time and effort in the long run.

Deep cleaning your yacht’s cabin, screens, and vinyl is a vital part of boat maintenance. By following these steps and using quality products like IMAR, Starclean, Autosol, and Sky Leather, you can ensure that your vessel remains in pristine condition. A well-maintained yacht not only looks great but also provides a safe and enjoyable environment for you and your guests. Happy cleaning!
